Choose the audit that matches the problem
Use a website audit when the concern affects discovery or performance across your site. Choose a local audit when the core issue is business information, Maps visibility, local competitors or branch coverage. A combined engagement can cover both, with the evidence and deliverables separated.
| Situation | Scope to discuss | Useful deliverable |
|---|---|---|
| A site changed platforms | Old URL inventory, redirects and page templates | Migration reconciliation with affected URLs |
| Important service pages receive little attention | Page purpose, discovery and internal links | A page-by-page improvement brief |
| People visit but rarely enquire | Landing pages and contact journey | A documented enquiry-path review |
| One branch is hard to find on Maps | Profile and geographic visibility | A local SEO audit for that branch |
What the working report contains
Each finding should include the affected URL or template, the observed behaviour, the business consequence, a proposed correction and a verification step. We group repeated template issues so the team can fix the cause once.
- A dated baseline and the sources available to the reviewer
- Priorities separated into blocking, important and later work
- Implementation ownership and dependencies
- A release checklist with observations after the changes
A sample finding, from observation to decision
Illustrative example: a booking page returns an error while navigation still links to it. Record the exact path and response, restore the intended page or route visitors to its relevant replacement, then verify the booking journey. This is more actionable than reporting only a count of broken links.
Access, pricing and boundaries
An initial public opportunity review is free. A comprehensive audit needs a written quote based on site size, platform, available records and investigation depth. Read-only Search Console or analytics access may improve the diagnosis. Implementation, paid tools and ongoing monitoring are included only when stated in the proposal.
